Fellows will spend three quarters of the program in the Emergency Medicine Department and one quarter of the program on other services. The rotations in the other departments will provide the fellows with opportunities to develop important knowledge and skills in core subjects.

Eligibility
MBBS with completion of Internship. Should complete BLS, ACLS, ITLS and PALS structured courses before commencement of the fellowship. Additional qualifications and work experience in emergency department are desirable. Selection based on written and aptitude test.

Observership in RRIEM
Fellows can do observership for 4 weeks at George Washington University Hospital working with the faculty in Washington D.C. as an elective. The fellows will be responsible for their airfare housing and meals during the elective.

The daily classes will be conducted by GWU faculty, senior faculty from IIEMS which include the eminent teachers from various centers where Emergency Medicine is a specialty and National Faculty of the course. After each module, exam will be conducted at the end of the month. Fellows will be given a project every month, which they have to finish before the next visit of the GWU faculties. Extra effort will be given to the candidates who are finding it difficult to follow the course modules.

Evaluation
Each module will begin with a pre-test to gauge the fellows' academic knowledge on the clinical topics, and each module will end with a post-test to measure the fellows' level of comprehension and mastery of the material given during the module session. In addition to that, faculty will conduct an annual written and oral exam that covers the 12 mnodules within that year. The senior members of the Society for Emergency Medicine in India (SEMI) will be invited to participate as examiners. In addition, a final exam covering all 24 modules will be conducted at the end of the fellowship program.
