It is headed by Prof. (Dr.) Karthikeya Varma, former Principal, Calicut Medical College. The Academy is conducting a number of courses and educational programmes for the academic development of the Medical Professionals. The entrance training Programme is a unique project of MIMS Academy designed to provide guidance to the aspiring Medical Graduates who intend appearing for the Entrance examination for Post Graduate courses. The program started in 2006 and has been immensely successful. Our Hearty Congratulations to 40 Students of our first batch (2006) who obtained admissions through state and central entrance examinations. Highlights of the Medical PG Entrance Guidance Program The Medical PG Entrance Guidance Programme for the year 2007 has started from 23rd March 2007. This Programme consists of interactive sessions followed by Mock test sessions on Medical PG Entrance subjects Faculty drawn from a pool of eminent teachers teachers with vast experience in Entrance Guidance Programme. The course spreads over 8 months. Classes will be held on all Sundays & 2nd Saturdays. This Program will also include Computer simulated examination which will provide ample opportunity to assess one's strength and weakness. We intend completing the course before the commencement of the entrance exams to the Central Institutes (AIIMS, PGIMER, JIPMER, etc) Syllabus The course covers Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic medicine, Community medicine, General medicine, OBG, Paediatrics, all Medical and Surgical specialties & Superspecialities. Training Modules Guidance classes in various subjects by experienced faculty. Take away study materials. Classes starts at 8:30 am and conclude by 5:30 pm. Mock exams on all days. Study materials for each lecture will be e-mailed prior to the lecture. Computer assisted model exams and guidance. MIMS has commissioned a versatile Computer Lab to provide training and guidance for preparing the Candidates to appear for the entrance examination. This includes continuous objective asssessment perfomed with help of computer-simulated exams. This aims to provide the trainee ample opportunites to identify their strength and weaknesses so that they can take corrective steps at various stages of the training.The Lab will be open on all working days from 9 AM to 6 PM. The classes will be conducted in beautiful ambiance of centrally Air Conditioned Auditorium at MIMS. Excellent Audio-Visual aids are available Other Facilities Learn and Earn module- Candidates can join in MIMS as General Duty Medical Officers. Limited number of positions are presently available. Stay and Study module- Limited Hostel Accommodation facilities, on first come first serve basis. Refreshments and Subsidized working lunch at the canteen in MIMS. Eligibility Pass in M.B.B.S.
